Penny!! and Food!!

I just wanted to share some pictures of my doggie Penny.  Isn't she a pretty lady?

On a different note, I have been cooking a lot lately and really enjoying it.  I have discovered a great grocery store in Dallas- Newflower Farmers Market- They have great produce at great prices- its pretty much just like Sprouts. We made some yummy chicken salad to make sandwiches for lunch this week.  Yesterday David and I made onion rings from scratch without a recipe, and surprisingly they turned out pretty good.  Today I made Mahi mahi with orange blossom glaze and rosemary potatoes.  Too bad I didn't have my camera handy to take any pictures.

I be "Walkin' Out Like a Swoll Tick"

Here are some of the yummy foods that I tasted during my Tennessee trip.  The title of this entry is taken from a quote that the lady at the Tennessee Welcome Center said.  We asked her where a good place to get some BBQ was, and she said she liked Leonard's All You Can Eat BBQ because you will be "walkin' out like a swoll tick." Haha...funny southern folk.  I show these first because let's face it- It's all about the food. Enjoy...and try not to drool on your keyboard at the melt in your mouth Memphis BBQ.

Don't Worry- I didn't eat All this food by myself...

Visions of Light

I took more than 500 pictures on my road trip through Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee.  I will be sharing them sporadically.  When I take pictures, I usually try to visualize the potential from each shot.  But sometimes it's the pictures that I least expect potential, that I actually like the most. My latest experimentation/vision is from a combination of two pictures during my trip:

Senior Portraits

The day after her high school graduation, I took some senior pictures for my sister.  We just went around a few places in Arlington.  These are just a sample:

Want some pictures too?  I am looking for people to photograph!
Pictures from my road trip to Tennessee are coming soon.

Malili Otoya Jewelry

Every week, I am going to try to highlight somebody, webpage or blog that I admire.

The lucky first person is Veronica, whom I shared my Vienna experience with.  She has partnered with a designer, Malili to launch their own jewelry line!  I really admire her for using what she learned from business school to break out and do her own thing.  I hope they have continued success!  Please check out their products!

My first Etsy listing!

I am so excited about my first Etsy listing!  You can take a look at it on the "ViennaIsLove Etsy" page of my blog. I also have a "My Etsy" tab on my facebook profile.  There will definitely be more to come so please check back or add me to your favorites on Etsy.

The little oasis

I snapped some pictures by my apartment the other day.  It's like a little oasis among the concrete highways and boring buildings of Dallas.

I love the long, flowing branches of this tree.

I like to call this photo "New Beginnings."  It was shot looking straight up the tree.

Here's the birdie hotel.  As you can tell, it was pretty full that day.

More from Downtown Exploring

Here are some more pictures from that day of exploring downtown.

This one is the surprising and beautiful inside of the Thanksgiving Square building.

These are some of the fountains of Fountain Place.

This is the Trammell Crow building that I used to work in with the DMA artwork in front.
